Hello! I’m Rachel Mendelson, Photo Editor at The Wall Street Journal covering Markets, Wall Street and Personal Finance on the Finance bureau. Previously, I was an Associate Graphic Designer at Business Insider and the company’s first-ever fellow with the NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists.

I graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and double minors in Psychology and Gender & Sexuality Studies. 

Now, I merge my interests in photography, journalism and design by creating compelling photo illustrations and commissioning photographers from all over the country (and occasionally Europe) for some of the Journal’s biggest financial scoops and features.
